Let’s Chat Style

Hello, Christmas and holiday family photoshoot season :). We had such a fun time taking photos at the Trinity Tree Farm and the setting is so appropriate for the Pacific Northwest. Surrounded by Douglas Firs and Nobles, the kids played peek-a-boo behind the trees with our very patient photographer. Kid’s fashion have always been my favorite projects. I may subliminally do family photo shoots just so I can play dress up with the kids. I posted a blog last year with some tips on styling family photos and applied some of those techniques for this shoot.  I went for a black and white theme to contrast the natural setting and brought in some rich colors to elevate the muted tones of the grass and gray skies.  These will likely be displayed in a gallery wall, so I incorporate color palettes that blend well with my interior tones. I’ve posted some similar outfit options below and be sure to check out the new tab on the top menu to shop items you see on Instagram!

Quick Life Update

The end of the year is approaching and it STILL feels as if we just moved.  Like a hyperlapse video, the past four months have been such a blur, a lot of happy blurs, but the pace card has been aggressive. I’ve had many friends ask if I am still blogging, thank you for caring by the way, and yes I am. I took a short and much-needed hiatus to get our family settled in our new life, and also find my voice again. All of us parents know how easy it is to get lost in the chaos and I was chasing my tail for awhile. This move has been unlike our others, which always felt like our next temporary stay. We are HOME and now we are nesting. I’ve been consumed with furnishing the house, getting the kids going with school, engaging with the community and working on a new business venture I hope to share soon. Now that we are “somewhat” settled,  I have every intention on using this blog as a creative outlet to share my enthusiasm about styling, fashion, interiors, and our new life in the PNW. I hope you keep reading!
