BAA BAA! Happy Year  2015 and year of the Sheep! Traditionally, hundreds of thousands of Japanese people and  Japan residents head to the shrines to make wishes for the upcoming year. To avoid the masses, we’ve made our own tradition of heading to the shrine on New Year’s Eve. Meiji shrine is one of the most popular and beautiful (in my humble opinion) shrines in Tokyo. It’s located in the heart of the city, just adjacent to Harajuku. You are greeted with immaculate tori gates and a loose gravel path, which guide you passed gorgeous sake barrels, making your way to the temple.

I never tire of Tokyo and all of it’s beautiful gems! Wishing everyone a prosperous, healthy and successful NEW YEAR!
